Bob Buckley Gives Back Through Local Scholarships
May 13, 2021
White, Graham, Buckley & Carr partner Bob Buckley is proud to be a sponsor of the 2021 Connecting Hearts Gala fundraiser benefiting the Independence School District Foundation (ISDF) on May 14. Buckley previously served as the ISDF board president.
Buckley, along with his wife and firm office manager, Kim, also funded $1,000 scholarships for seven graduating seniors. The ongoing scholarship program is for students graduating from William Chrisman and who attended Bryant Elementary School in the district.
This isn’t, of course, Buckley’s only activity with William Chrisman High School; he has been the school’s Booster Club president for five years. He and his wife have made several contributions to the athletic programs at William Chrisman. For more than 20 years, Buckley also has served as the voice of the William Chrisman Bears; he serves as the announcer for both the football and varsity basketball teams for the Independence-based high school. He also started Bears Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing future athletes from the high school.
The event’s funds go toward a variety of ISDF programs, including providing need-based funding and services for ISD students and families. Established nearly 20 years ago, the ISDF’s mission is to expand educational opportunities for students and staff and promote volunteerism. In recent years, the foundation has spread its helping hand throughout the Independence community.
